Acting is a career which many dream of, but few take practical steps to achieve. This degree is carefully structured to support you to fulfill your ambitions, fully focused around giving you the experience, contacts and skills to develop a career in the arts. You will have your acting skills honed in practical, challenging workshops and through touring opportunities. You will become a member of our theatre company, understanding how a modern theatre company makes not only amazing theatre but also how it makes money. You will be trained to become a versatile actor in line with industry demands, working in live theatre and location-based film, with classes in voice and movement, and dealing with texts from Shakespeare to new writing. In this way you will develop a professional attitude, knowing in which areas you really shine, knowing how to audition and succeed in castings, and able to manage your own diverse career. You will also gain an academically-demanding degree, developing your research, writing and critical thinking skills to give you graduate-level skills. In the 2016 National Student Survey our Acting course received 100% student satisfaction and here are few reasons why; on this course you will experience creating and producing your own performances. There are opportunities to tour your work, getting you used to the demands of creating, publicising and delivering new and innovative theatre. Work in a 300-seat theatre and black box studio theatre, whilst combining elements of contemporary and traditional practice, theatre making, devised work, directing opportunities, scene study and core acting skills.
This course is aimed at helping you become an actor, working across diverse roles. It is taught by industry professionals who will give you practical experience of alternative approaches to finding/creating work. You will gain a degree, a working CV, a show reel, a voice reel, as well as numerous contacts with industry professionals, providing a strong network from which to launch your career
