You will gain advanced technical, management knowledge and skills relating to the hairdressing, beauty and make-up related industries. You will also undertake aspects such as health and fitness as well as small business enterprise. This course will give you the skills to work at management level with in the industry or give you the skills to start your own business. The course aims to provide the opportunity for learners to develop understanding of specialist areas of beauty, hair and make-up management practice relevant to the industry; and you will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of linked activities including visits to trade fairs and exhibitions, the chance to participate in competitions, presentations and demonstrations. This course will offer two routes. One being beauty therapy lead and one being hair, beauty and media and theatrical make-up. This course will provide you with the knowledge, practical experience and confidence to pursue a career in the make-up and theatre industry as a professional make-up artist for theatre, fashion, media. Or the beauty route with Aromatherapy, sports massage and Indian head massage. It is aimed at dedicated learners who want to move into these industries or further training, and are looking for practical training and a nationally-recognised qualification. The course is delivered by experienced professionals who are experts in the industry and have extensive industry and teaching profiles. The course places a strong emphasis on developing industry-ready graduates and students are encouraged to apply for work placements to gain hands-on experience. Learning is aided by a programme of guest lectures and a number of high-profile guest speakers have presented to students. Students will study the different disciplines for the variety of exciting industries. At the end of the course students have the opportunity to celebrate their achievement with a full graduation ceremony at Chichester Cathedral.
