This vocationally oriented course is specifically designed for those wishing to gain employment as biomedical scientists, either in industry or within the health sector. As such, it leads to a professionally recognised qualification, being externally approved by the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) and accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS). This means that when you have successfully completed the degree, you may become a registered biomedical scientist affiliated with the HCPC, after a one-year period of paid in-service training.
Foundation Year courses have been designed for students who do not have the necessary academic qualifications needed to enter directly into the first year of a degree but who have the ability and commitment to do so.
