Combining elements of Business and Accounting this degree is designed to prepare ambitious students with the skills to engage in the specialised study of accounting as part of their degree. On graduation students will have the option of starting a career in the field, proceeding to further studies in the field of accountancy, or completing an appropriate professional qualification.
The course aims to develop skills that would be appropriate for successful students (whether qualified as accountants or not) to use in the practice of business management. In addition to theoretical knowledge of the subject, students will gain familiarity with practical scenarios faced by accountants, and the modules will place emphasis on the development of essential skills required by a business accountant. On completion of the degree students should have sufficient knowledge of these concepts and skills to be able to apply them effectively in the work place, making them highly employable
