ECONOMICS: - In studying economics you will learn how individuals and society make choices about how scarce resources are used, what products are produced and who gets to consume them. These choices depend on evaluating costs, benefits, risks and effects on others. Economics at Glasgow dates back to Adam Smith, who was a Professor at the University in the 18th century and is widely renowned as the father of modern economics. ENGLISH LITERATURE: - You will explore all aspects of literature in English, benefiting from our expertise in a wide range of areas, including American, Irish and postcolonial literatures, critical theory, creative writing, and the relationship between literature and other arts, media and science. In choosing English Literature at Glasgow, you will be studying at one of the oldest, largest and most dynamic centres for the study of literature in the world.
