English and Spanish at Southampton offers you the opportunity to think about language and literature in new and engaging ways. This combination will develop your linguistic and analytical skills, your theoretical sophistication and your understanding of the ways in which different languages reflect different cultures.
You will spend year three in a country where your chosen language is spoken and will write a dissertation on a topic of your choice in either subject in your final year. We offer a wide range of options, offering full coverage of English literary history and choices in world literature, creative writing and film.
