The Fashion Technology course provides students with an exciting opportunity to develop keen business acumen and a thorough understanding of the latest in wearable textiles and fashion technology. The course has been developed in response to the growing demand for graduates that combine professional business skills and state-of-the-art knowledge of innovative materials and technologies for emerging fashion and textiles markets. The course provides a thorough grounding in all aspects of contemporary Fashion Business and Technology from consumer economics to supply chain management; from advanced materials and manufacturing technologies, digital technologies to product and service innovation. The fashion technology and business aspects of the course are underpinned by a thorough grounding in textile science and garment technology, and informed by the latest developments in smart materials and wearable technologies. This equips students a unique understanding of the technical performance and product innovation, and the mechanisms through which these can be combined to deliver outstanding products and services. The course ensures the development of employability skills, including communication, teamwork, hands-on technology research training in final year projects, reflection and commercial awareness to ensure that the distinctive combination of skills and expertise allows our graduates to flourish in a range of careers in the fashion and textile industries.
