University Centre Reaseheath (Nantwich)
University: https://ucreaseheath.ac.uk/
This course seeks to develop students for the role of the Landscape Manager in assessing the characteristics, history, nature conservation value and developmental potential of sites and the landscape to understand the needs of users, owners, managers and the wider public. This includes planning the development, remediation, restoration, design and management of sites for current and future use whilst conserving and protecting the environment and biodiversity. The programme structure is designed to provide students with a fundamental understanding of the key theories and concepts as well as developing essential skills within the first year of study. The second year of study will encourage students to develop further specialist and professional skills and the consideration of their practice within the broader context of landscape management. In the final year students will develop further specialist professional skills and the development of knowledge in relation to professional practice to provide a platform for further professional development as part of the Landscape Institute Pathway to Chartership programme. Additionally students will undertake a Major project which aims to integrate the knowledge developed over the programme through the development of proposals for the implementation of a Landscape Management scheme. There will be an emphasis on the development of critical and creative thinking throughout the programme and students are encouraged to apply theoretical knowledge and concepts to realistic situations and outputs through project work and coursework assessment.
