Solving the major challenges our society faces will require advanced materials that outperform those we currently have available to date. It is the job of materials scientists and engineers to discover, develop and manufacture these new materials. As a materials scientist and engineer, you will be in a strong position to make a difference in the future of our society. This course is particularly appropriate for students who enjoy sciences, but would like work in a engineering environment, operating in teams to solve problems. Successful graduates from our Materials Science and Engineering courses are creative, numerate, good communicators and skilled at solving problems and delivering results. With these qualities our graduates not only develop careers as high-quality practising scientists and engineers, but are sought after by top companies for their potential in management, finance, consulting and other senior professional positions. As professional engineers, they have every prospect of working with new ideas, which encourage the application of science.
