This course provides the specialist qualities and skills you need to work in children’s nursing. You will gain an understanding of the personal, socio-economic and cultural influences that impact on children and young people’s physical health and mental wellbeing. You will also explore ways of working collaboratively across traditional boundaries, both with other disciplines and in a variety of settings. We have excellent links with the NHS and other care providers and arrange placements in both hospitals and community settings. These are a vital part of your studies, representing 50% of the course each year. Our expert tutors will support you throughout your studies, and our campus clinical skills labs will provide a safe environment to develop your skills.
As a successful graduate, you will be able to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and begin your career in children’s nursing. You may become a manager, educator or clinical specialist.
