Philosophy at Sheffield gives you complete freedom. There are no compulsory modules so you can pretty much design your own curriculum. This approach works because every student has a personal adviser to guide them and because of the unusually wide range of subjects on offer. We cover all the key areas, including ethics, metaphysics, and political philosophy. We also teach courses on major figures such as Plato, Aristotle, Descartes and Hegel.
