Students will develop as independent learners and critical thinkers through self-reflection, directed research and study activities, project development and work-based analysis and evaluation. Core and optional module selection prepares students to work with and support the development of individuals in meeting their own potential through a wide range of employment settings. Our degree takes advantage of St Mary’s London location to bring in published writers from the worlds of fiction, screenwriting and poetry. You will study different styles, genres and forms, which will enable you to write what you love in the best way you can. We welcome students with a wide range of interests in writing, without prejudice or snobbery about content. In addition to prose fiction classes, our professional classes in journalism, publishing and screenwriting are designed to help you turn your talents into a vocation.
