The nature of the work of environmental health practitioners (EHPs) is varied and challenging and makes a real difference to people’s health and wellbeing. Those working in the field need a sound knowledge of the natural and manmade worlds and the systems and policies that govern them. In order to become a qualified EHP, you’ll need a degree endorsed by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) and experience of professional practice in areas including food, housing, pollution, environmental standards, health and safety, noise and public health.
