Behind the scenes of every production you will find a multi-talented team of creative designers, technical staff and stage managers. Study this programme and you will be trained in core aspects of technical theatre including stage and production management, lighting, sound and staging. Our main performance venue, the Peter Sarah Theatre, is equipped with industry standard equipment including a full height fly tower, counterweight flying system and tension wire grid, is one of the most comprehensive training facilities in the North. As part of our work-ready guarantee, you will undertake a range of production roles as part of live in-house performances collaborating with our acting, dance and musical theatre Foundation Degree students. Work placement opportunities exist with organisations such as R&B Group, Ballet Lorent, Northern Stage, SAGE Gateshead, Dance City, RSC, Matthew Bourne and Live Theatre. Our graduates are currently working all over the world in the theatre, music and events industries as lighting designers, technical managers, deputy and assistant stage managers, venue technicians, sound operators and stage crew. Academic progression is also available through our one-year BA (Hons) Creative Enterprise (Top-Up) degree.
