This degree course will develop your knowledge of the travel and events industries from a management perspective. The course is designed for you to enhance your own managerial skills in order to progress into employment within these industries. Group sizes are maintained at manageable levels in order that students can gain maximum benefit from in-class discussions and on-course support. The course aims to give students a wide range of industry experience through guest speakers, trips and live projects with tourism providers. A two week work placement is scheduled in the second year of the course to complement your employability and build on the skills and knowledge delivered on the course. In previous years an arrangement through Erasmus+ was in place and Tourism students carried out their placement in Seville.
As a successful graduate from this programme you will be eligible to formally progress directly onto a BA (Hons) top-up year at Loughborough College, choosing either the BA (Hons) in Tourism Management or BA (Hons) in Events Management. You can also apply to other universities that run related top-up degrees subject to entry requirements. Universities may require you to also hold GCSE English and/or maths at 4/5 (C).
